The minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has issued warning to the school principals to stop releasing the children to welcome him anytime he visits.
On Tuesday, November 3, 2024, while commissioning the construction of a 9.8-kilometre road from Kabusa to Takushara at the permanent site of Government Secondary School Kabusa , FCT Minister made this statement.
He responded to the large number of students that were out of their classrooms to welcome him.
He further noted that lining up the children on the road to welcome dignitaries will no longer be accepted. He urged the school management to focus on the welfare of the students.
He warned, “It is not in our culture, and this will be the last time to see this happen. Nobody should bring students out of their school to line up on the road.
“We will not accept that any longer. Our children deserve the best.”
