Palesa Nomthandazo Phumelele Modiga, better known as Zoë Modiga, is a talented singer and songwriter from South Africa who rose to prominence in 2016 on The Voice South Africa.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Born in Overport, Durban, she discovered her passion for music at the age of 10, participating in local competitions in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.
She furthered her music education at the National School of Arts in Johannesburg, where she focused on classical piano, clarinet, and vocals.
From 2013 to 2015, Zoë studied Jazz performance at the University of Cape Town’s College of Music, during which she won the South African Music Rights Organisation’s Overseas Scholarships Competition for Jazz.
CAREER
Her career took off with the release of her debut album “Yellow: The Novel” in 2017, which garnered nominations at the South African Music Awards.
Building on this success, she released her second album, “Inganekwane,” in 2020, blending jazz, Motown soul, and African storytelling, which debuted at number one globally.
Zoë continued to make waves in the music scene by headlining the 14th Annual Mzansi Fela Festival in December 2021 and announcing the Cos Cos Yaphela Tour in September, coinciding with the release of her third studio album.
In November 2023, she was recognized as Glamour Magazine’s Woman of the Year.
In April 2024, she released her album “Nomthandazo” and was named Spotify’s EQUAL Africa ambassador for June.
She also revealed the Nzalabantu concert scheduled for September, which will be held in Cape Town in October.
